Adam to ride coast2coast for MvC’s latest initiative – 8th & 9th June 2019
Adam’s Story
I am taking part in this cycle to raise money for MusicvCancer’s latest initaitive, to revamp the Breast Cancer Care Facility in North Tees hospital that is used to serve the wider area.
Normally MusicvCancer raises money for different cancer related causes, through charity concerts normally held in Hartlepool. However due to my Mam taking ill through breast cancer before Christmas, my Dad Tony Larkin who runs the charity, has decided to take a back seat from the concerts for a while to help focus on my Mam.
This is why I have decided to help out and try and raise money for the charity and their latest initiative through something that isn’t involved in music. The cost of revamping the Breast Cancer Care Facility will be in the region of £100,000. Now I know that I will hopefully only raise a fraction of that but it’s a start and every little helps in making that target and helping the women of the North East get the best care possible.
Just to make it a little more interesting I haven’t rode a bike in around 6 years and will be hopefully completing the cycle in around 6 weeks time, work schedule permitting. I will be starting in Whitehaven and finishing in Hartlepool, hopefully with a stones throw of a pub.
